Since 2003 I am working with charcoal dust installations on the floor. Different lace curtains function as templates through which the charcoal dust will be spread. The generated patterns could be seen as a negative from the lace curtain´s shadows. As the coal is not reflecting any light the black areas of charcoal dust seem to sink into the ground.
